I am a Registered Clinical Counsellor and Certified Gestalt Therapist.
I was born in Russia and immigrated to Canada in 2007. My previous education and experience was in medicine (M.D. from Kuban State Medical University in Russia with a specialized training in Cardiology). I worked as a cardiologist in an outpatient clinic for several years, where I got increasingly interested in psychotherapy, especially Gestalt therapy. I started training in Gestalt therapy while being in Russia and continued it after I came to Canada.
I have a very extensive personal experience with life transitions: leaving unsatisfactory long-term relationship, changing careers, moving to a different country and adapting to a new society and culture. These events gave me a rich ground from which to connect and understand the experience of others. In addition to this, I am continuously searching for opportunities for self-realization and personal growth.
I like traveling, learning languages, meeting and connecting with people. I practice Thai Chi since 2010, and find it significantly grounding and presence-centering. I am passionate about downhill skiing and hiking and I recently began learning French and playing classic guitar. I am a single parent of a 17 year old son, who likes hockey, music, sciences and computer games.
I am fluent in English and Russian and offer psychotherapy in both languages.
